Based on the conviction that the days of authorial design are numbered and that many things can be advanced more courageously, better and with more joy in a collective – in Gesellschaft, that is – the members of the association work sometimes side by side, then again with each other in changing constellations, depending on expertise and availability. Around a secluded inner courtyard, they run several workshops and regularly stage exhibitions in the large hall that show that design is not just about beautiful surfaces, but about imagining new perspectives for the future and questioning old habits. How should our city function? What should new furniture production look like? Are we still allowed to produce at all? As the wagon moves, a tiny glass wheel dips into soap, collecting a thin film that can be blown into bubbles by the observer, inviting you to play with this tiny glass-plastic hybrid. 100x30x70mm acrylic tank with a thin glass wheel hanging in the middle of it. It had white enamel on the outside and an egg yolk of solid gold, with a miniature chicken figurine inside. The eggs, commissioned by Tsar Nicholas II of Russia from Peter Carl Fabergé as Easter gifts for his wife and mother, quickly developed into more symbolic presents, time capsules stating events of historical significance. One egg, presented to Empress Alexandra Fedorovna in 1900, stated the significance of the Trans-Siberian Railway - a connection between East and West - displaying a miniature Railway made from solid gold with diamonds and rubies inside a silver egg. During the First World War the Fabergé factory was commissioned to craft ammunition and war supplies made from copper rather than jewellery. Copper is a cheap and soft metal that is easy to shape and durable, alongside its practical attributes as a raw material, it is a more affordable base material for enamel. The train waggon is a comment on the Trans-Siberian Railway as a project with great tension, glamour and of unseen size. Nowadays, the railway travel on this route has lost its appeal and charm due to travel sanctions and the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which has increased the transport of military goods again. The formerly displayed golden carriages inside the egg must be turned inside out, and become a copper waggon transporting eggs. Irrespective of quality, the shear motivation drives their zeal to steal. It can be referred to as ‘the cloud’. Calm and sluggish, it lies there, soft as a cushion awaiting you. No sooner do you approach it, in an aeroplane, or indeed does it approach you, as mist. So it dissolves into icy winds, cold droplets; it is no more.
